So, overall today was a pretty good day. I woke up on time. Got ready for school without any problems (even managed to wear my contacts today). It wasn't raining as I walked out to the bus stop; a rare occurrence. My hair managed to stay relatively nice throughout the day. In art class we actually got to use the real art room. It was being renovated so we had to use a room on the ground floor where they teach plumbing or something. The real art room is on the third floor with an amazing view of Keflavík. And guess who got a seat near the window? In Danish I didn't really understand anything, but I'm starting to accept that I might actually fail a class. And, possibly the most amazing thing that happened today was that I got out of one hour of SAM!! All we were doing was class work that I had finished last night. In Iceland if you get done with class work and the teacher has finished teaching you are pretty much allowed to leave.
I still had an hour to kill before I caught the bus home so Ale and I walked to Samkaup (the grocery store, it literally translates to "Shop Together"). We walked around and browsed. Ale really had a craving for some kex (cookies) because her host brother had finished all of the ones at her house and I really wanted some nammi (candy). Samkaup, in all it's loveliness, gladly obliged.
All in all, it was just a really good day. And hopefully the rest of the week will be good too. Friday I'm going to Siglufjörður for the weekend with my Icelandic for foreigners class and on Saturday I hit the one month mark!
I've uploaded more pictures from Þjórsárdalur and others, so check them out!
